SITCOM: A surprise for Alice

This continues to be a Saturday-night must-see, possibly, some might say, by default. Although Tamsin Greig (pictured, centre) is undoubtedly hugely talented, she just coasts through this fairly lightweight sitcom, which has been cleverly scheduled on a night that's currently a bit thin for top TV. Consequently the show has consistently picked up critical acclaim. Would it be as much in the limelight if it was shown on another night where the competition is tougher?..
