The final performance

The Next Best Thing, showing March 25th on LIVING 2 at 9:00pm

Taking centre stage on LIVING2 this week is the all-singing, all-dancing finale of the exclusive US reality series The Next Best Thing. Over the past eight weeks the show has travelled across America in search of the country's best celebrity impersonator, with a grand prize of $100,000 on offer for the winner. Judging which of the hopefuls make the grade are actress Lisa Ann Walter (pictured, The Parent Trap and Shall We Dance?), comedian Jeffrey Ross and actor Elon Gold.

Following the auditions, which were held in New York, Hollywood, Orlando and Las Vegas, the hundreds of wannabes were whittled down to the final ten. Last week's episode saw each of the finalists take to the stage at the historic Orpheum Theatre in Hollywood to perform one final routine before the voting lines were opened to the American public. With Paris Hilton, George W Bush, Lucille Ball, Tina Turner, Little Richard, Barbara Streisand, Robin Williams, Frank Sinatra and two Elvis impersonators each determined to put the others to shame, who wowed the viewers at home enough to be crowned America's Best Celebrity Impersonator?

In this week's glittering series finale, the ten hopefuls are given one final chance to strut their stuff on the famous stage before the first cut is made. With the Paris Hilton and Robin Williams look-a-likes eliminated straight away, it's up to the show's presenter, model and actress Michele Merkin, to announce who has made the final five. The contestants are left all shook up when both Elvis impersonators make it through - will one of them eventually be crowned the king?
