There's been critical praise for this documentary which takes a difficult subject - incestuous love - and treats it very sympathetically, so much so that it's hard not to feel compassion for those involved.

This week's Cutting Edge documentary follows the stories of two couples who are so much in love they are willing to risk everything to be together. But for these two couples the risks are higher than most: they are half-brother and sister. Over nine months, the documentary follows the lives of Nick and Danielle (pictured) in Scotland and Tom and Stefanie in the US.
Both couples are in the grip of a powerful, incestuous love: a passion that is set to destroy marriages, and will see Nick and Danielle prosecuted for incest. In both cases, the half-sibling couples grew up apart, and didn't meet until adulthood.
All four think that the root of their relationship lies in a phenomenon known as Genetic Sexual Attraction (GSA). GSA describes the attraction that can happen between close family members who have been reunited after growing up apart.
While most people don't act on these feelings, at its most extreme, GSA leads to one of society's last social taboos: incest. But for those who experience it, the waters are much muddier: "I don't understand what the crime is," says Tom. "We are just two human beings in love."
