Award-winning chef Gary Rhodes returns to UKTV Food with a brand-new and exclusive series that sees him take his culinary skills on the road once again.
After the success of Rhodes Across India, Gary now celebrates authentic and regional Chinese cuisine in Rhodes Across China - a 10-part series that sees Gary and two apprentice sous chefs - selected from a pool of food and China-loving UKTV Food viewers - put their knowledge of Chinese food to the test and prove there's much more to Chinese food than sweet and sour pork and chicken chow mein.
In the year the Olympics come to China, Rhodes Across China will see Gary and his team travel the country and visit some of its most famous provinces in a bid to uncover the real China. Through food and food production, the team uncovers a beautiful country where fresh, simple and healthy food is at its beating heart.
The team soon realise that fresh, regional food in China is light years away from the Chinese takeaways we in the UK are used to. In this first episode Gary visits Lin Heung, a yum cha restaurant where dim sum dishes have been enjoyed for over 80 years.
