In 1960 comedian Tony Hancock gave an extraordinarily frank and revealing interview to former Labour MP John Freeman in his Face to Face series. Hancock - who respected Freeman greatly - was disturbed by the interviewer's probing questions, which forced him to reflect on his life and career. It's also been said that the interview was a contributing factor in Hancock's later suicide because it's believed it enhanced his inclination to be self-critical.
