Blake Edwards's bittersweet romantic comedy stars Oscar-nominated Audrey Hepburn, the seemingly air-headed elegant socialite Holly Golightly whose façade hides pain and loss, and George Peppard as Paul Varjak, a blocked-writer with his own dark secrets who falls for her. As their Manhattan-based romance progresses, one of them will end up heart-broken.
The film won as Oscar for Henry Mancini's haunting score, including Moon River.
It's the cat's whiskers.
Did you know? The black dress worn by Audrey Hepburn in the film's opening scenes has become one of the most expensive pieces of film memorabilia ever to have been sold. It went for $807,000 at Christie's in 2006.
