The National Geographic Channel uses archival footage, personal photos and, where available, first-hand accounts to tell the remarkable stories of the survivors of some of the bloodiest battles in history.
In this episode, American veterans tell of their riveting first-hand experiences in the Vietnam War. It was a war which saw the use of innovative tactics, such as quick-response helicopter warfare, but also saw some of the most horrific combat seen by US troops, such as the bloody battle at Ia Drang river valley. Archival film footage, audio recordings and personal photos help create a graphic picture of this costly war.
