Viewers missing their fix of high heels and hissy fits from Britain's Next Top Model should head to LIVING2 this week as brand new Australia's Next Top Model begins the search for the next modelling superstar down under. From over a thousand applicants, only 12 young hopefuls are given a place on the competition catwalk and the chance to win the life-changing prizes, which include a contract with a top modelling agency and an eight-page feature in Australian Vogue. A trip to New York, a car and an international campaign also await the winner - but who will survive the tough elimination process, the demanding photo shoots, and the politics of sharing a house with 12 ambitious girls?
The wannabes include outspoken Paloma (pictured), who left school at 16 to model and is determined to make the most of her amazing opportunity. Shy Alice idolises Lily Cole and has already been scouted by a major agency, while 19- year-old nanny Jane thinks she has what it takes to win because, in her own words, she's "hot".
No matter how confident they are, every contender will have to work hard to impress the judges. Host Jodhi Meares knows the industry inside out having worked as a top model and a successful swimwear designer. Fashion designer Alex Perry, veteran model and presenter Charlotte Dawson, and photographer Jez Smith will also be on the lookout for the girl with the right ingredients for success.
