This new quiz show - a big hit in the US - starts today on Sky One. Hosted by Noel Edmonds, it puts adults to the test, as they tackle questions on subjects spanning the National Curriculum that any ten-year-old should be able to answer.

With an ultimate cash prize of £250,000, it's a battle of nerves as contestants must choose whether to go it alone and trust their own knowledge, or ask the help of one of their ten-year-old classmates.

The adults' reputations are on the line as they risk the humiliation of being outsmarted by a kid. Will they jeopardise the jackpot for the sake of saving face? If they lose they will have to drop out of school and be forced to utter TV's most embarrassing line: "I am not smarter than a ten-year-old."

But don't underestimate the challenge; after all Mozart composed his first pieces when he was five, Picasso painted Picador when he was eight, Song Yoo-geun was a physics prodigy who entered university at eight, while Tatum O'Neal won an Oscar at ten.

I love it when the class come in shouting, screaming, talking and above all the crowd claping, cheering and whistleing.     hi noel edmons-dick and dom im adam and im 9 years old.im a huge fan of yours i watch it every day and i love every single bit of it.for me its the best show in the world.i like lizzie she is a nice one.one thing when dick and dom do it the grand prize is 50;000 grand and when noel edmonds does it the grand prize is 250;000hmmmmmmmm thats strange but thats ok.i wish i lived in england i live in ireland. my mom rejestered to go on it but that might be in a couple of years time.im even watching it and writing at the same time.ha ha ha.bye

    I love are you smarter than a ten year old, it's the best! When I watch the T.V show after school at five I always answer the questions. I am not in yr 6 but in yr 7, age 11.

    I get annoyed at what they say about those kids. Before the show they read the answers out of textbooks so they are not that clever. Besides those questions are not for the average ten year old.

    Hi,

    This is Katie's (from AYS) dad. Nice to hear you enjoyed the show.

    To answer a few questions

    1. They have chosen the children for the next series and will start filming in a few weeks. They have already filmed shows over Easter, but I expect they won't go out till October.

    2. www.twofour.co.uk are the company who make the show for Sky so keep an eye out on their web site for audition news. I expect it will be around Jan-Feb when they will start looking again.

    It's filmed in Elstree Studio, which is basically near Watford, which is just north west of London.

    Went to see this show at Elstree Studios yesterday, 21st. July. Unfortunately Noel Edmunds wasnt there. Very disappointed. It was Dick and Dom. We were kept waiting standing up for 2 hours before we went in and then kept an hour and a half over the end time stated. The children were promised goody bags by the audience warm up person, Andy, and nothing materialised. I think they should look after their audience better. I know its free but we are not cattle or sheep. There was no information in the cafe area as to what we were supposed to be doing or how long we would be there and the security guards seemed mute except to each other. Disappointed from Woking!

    your show is okay but i think you have a speaker on the player and tells you the answer so it's not really interseting and also its a bit boring to watch makes me yawn but my mate thinks dick and dom are really hot!and im like 10 and all those questions are easy as sooo doesn't really work out because there not even hard may aswell get rid of the shit show hahaaa
