This unique film joins comedian and impressionist Alistair McGowan (pictured) as he takes part in a groundbreaking conservation project, following the release of two white rhino's from the safety of their protected sanctuary, into the wilds of Kenya.
Severe poaching left the white rhino on the brink of extinction, with only 30 left in the whole of Africa. Yet over the past few years, through intensive breeding herds, their numbers have significantly increased. The Lewa Conservancy initiated a huge self-help community project. Through this project the local tribes people were educated in the value of maintaining the species and eventually the local Masai took over the responsibility of these majestic creatures. Viewers witness Alistair tracking the rhinos alongside the Lewa Conservancy, following their progress as they adapt to their new lives in the bush. Taking in spectacular scenery and by using contemporary observational techniques, Alistair McGowan Goes Wild Rhinos is an emotional journey that brings hope to some of the most threatened creatures on earth.
