| Spanish Galleon Wreck Located in North Highlands |
A possible Spanish Galleon dating from the Great Armada of 1588 has been located off Kinlochbervie, in north-west Sutherland. Channel 4’s Time Team and St. Andrews University’s Archaeological Diving Unit (ADU) are excavating the wreck which was located after RAF divers found a rare 16th century Mediterranean pot on the seabed in 1997.
