007 is sent to investigate the disappearance of an American spacecraft and runs into Blofeld, a megalomaniac bent on starting World War III. Operating from a spectacular base built into a volcano, his radar-proof spacecraft has swallowed up American and Russian spaceships with the intention of causing the superpowers to blame each other and declare war.
