An emotionally charged action-adventure story, "Vertical Limit" is a high-adrenaline tale
Young climber, and National Geographic photographer, Peter Garrett (Chris O'Donnell) must launch a treacherous and extraordinary rescue effort up K2: Mount Godwin Austen, the world's second highest peak, to save his sister, Annie (Robin Tunney) and her summit team in a race against time.
Annie is an experienced, and famous, climber. She has taken her team of climbers for an expedition up K2. The team consist of the millionaire Elliot Vaughn (Bill Paxton) and one of the most trusted guides around, Tom McLaren (Nicholas Lea).
The reasoning behind this expedition is to enable Vaughn to fulfil his dream of standing on the summit of K2 at the exact point one of his planes makes its maiden flight over it.
Battling severe weather conditions and the inexperience of Vaughn lead the team to become trapped at 26,000 feet, a level above the vertical limit of which the body can survive. Now every second counts as Peter and his friends climb the world's most feared peak.
