Mattie Ross (Kim Darby) is a 14-year-old tomboy who has recently just lost her father to a vicious killer.

Now on a devout mission to avenge her father's murder, she recruits the tough, drink-hardened, one-eyed US marshall, Reuben J. "Rooster" Cogburn (John Wayne) to assist her.

The unlikely duo set off and are soon joined by LaBoeuf Texas Ranger (Glen Campbell) into the territories and indian country to find her father's killer.

This classic film caught John Wayne an Oscar for his role as Rooster Cogburn.
