Programme Information

Robert Louis Stevenson's classic story Treasure Island is brought right up to date, and then hurled into space, in this intergalactic version of the great adventure. Jim Hawkins is now the cabin boy on board a glittering space galleon, while John Silver is the ship's cook, a charismatic cyborg who befriends the young lad. They are part of an expedition to find the mythical Treasure Planet with its untold wealth. The crew battles the hostile space environment, encountering storms, supernovas and black holes. But there's even bigger danger on board, as Jim discovers that John Silver is about to lead a mutiny. Should he stick with his friend or betray him? Superb graphics add an extra dimension to the story-telling in this fantastic family film.
