Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio star in a harrowing and emotional tale of a young boy's relationship with his violent stepfather, based on a true story.

De Niro plays Dwight Hansen who, on the surface, appears to be a loving father and husband. It doesn't take his new wife, Caroline (Ellen Barkin), long to discover that he is, in fact, emotionally and physically abusive to herself and their children, not to mention an alcoholic. DiCaprio gives a compelling performance as son Toby. This Boy's Life is based on the award-winning novel by Tobias Wolff.
