After working at the City Bank for 15 years, Laura Tracey (Amanda Burton) discovers a major drugs money laundering operation. When she decides to "blow the whistle" on the bank she immediatel;y puts herself and her family in grave danger. The Traceys - Laura, husband Dominic (Neil Pearson) and children, Sasha (Charlotte Salt) and Daniel (Liam Hess) - are placed under the witness protection scheme.
For their own safety, Laura's family reluctantly leave their home and friends behind to start a new life with new identities in the North of England. DI Neil Sleightholme (Bill Paterson) and Kathy Enfield (Emma Cunniffe) are assigned to protect them. Laura's life is catapulted into chaos as the surprising story unfolds - with her motives called into question, her family and marriage falling apart and the drug-dealers she exposed hot on her trail.
