Programme Information

Jack Gold's made-for-TV film, based on Thomas Hardy's novel, stars Catherine Zeta-Jones as the beautiful Eustacia Vye who returns to her home village of Egdon Heath after tasting the delights of Europe. Bored with the quiet life, she falls for and marries Clym Yeobright, who once worked in Paris, hoping he will take her back to life on the boulevards.
