This is an adventure set in the wastelands of a bleak America in 2013 after another world war has destroyed most of the States including it's Government. A loner (Costner) is captured by 'The Holnists', a military group who rule and terrorise the 'new' America.
Costner escapes from the group's clutches and stumbles across the abandoned uniform and Jeep of the ex-postal service.
Using his new found identity he travels from colony to colony reassuring people that he is a Postman, a representative of the restored United States.
As people begin to believe and trust Costner each colony begin to plan how to revolt against 'The Holnists'
