The Fast Show

Pioneering comedy sketch show, which ran for three series - plus the odd special - from 1994 to 1997. The show's central performers were Paul Whitehouse, Charlie Higson, Simon Day, Mark Williams, John Thomson, Arabella Weir and Caroline Aherne. Other cast members included Paul Shearer, Felix Dexter, Rhys Thomas, Jeff Harding and Donna Ewin.

The show featured a wide range of continuing sketches and characters, along with a number of catchphrases, and had a long-lasting impact on popular British culture. Some of the characters were spun off into their own series or specials. Characters included Ted and Ralph, Swiss Toni, Brilliant Kid, "Unlucky" Alf, Arthur Atkinson, Colin Hunt, I'll Get Me Coat, Insecure Woman, Rowley Birkin QC, The Offroaders, Ken and Kenneth, Carl Hooper and Anyone Fancy A Pint?, but there were many, many more.

The show's influence can be seen in more recent comedy programmes such as Little Britain and The Catherine Tate Show.
