Programme Information

The inspiring true story of an Italian prisoner of war incarcerated at the foot of Mount Kenya during World War II who escapes from the prison camp to conquer the unforgiving peak. Having determined his goal, Franco (Vincent Spano) finds himself faced with a competitor, British camp commander Major Farrell (Ben Cross) who has long been a rival of Franco's for the love of Patricia (Rachel Ward). Now the two men take their battle to the steep slopes of Africa's most notorious mountain in a quest to reach the summit and win the hand of the woman they both love.
