Programme Information

This film reports on the search and rescue patrol of a medical ship named the Nightingale 229 in deep space within the early 22nd century and its six-member crew.

The crew includes the Captain & Pilot, A.J. Marley (Robert Forster), the co-pilot, Nick Vanzant (James Spader), the medical officer, Kaela Evers (Angela Bassett), a medical technician, Yerzy Penalosa (Lou Diamond Phillips), a paramedic, Danika Lund (Robin Tunney), and a computer technician, Benj Sotomejor (Wilson Cruz).

When the Nightingale 229, answers an emergency distress signal from a comet mining operation in a distant galaxy, the crew soon finds itself in danger from the mysterious young man (Peter Facinelli) they rescue, the alien artifact he's smuggled aboard, and the gravitational pull of a giant star about to go supernova the most massive explosion in the universe.
