This so called sport is an absolute disgrace!!!!!!!!! What sort of parents are these that actively encourage violence? All the tatty rubbish that goes with it should NOT be awarded for this VIOLENCE. These are the worst cases of child abuse ever shown on television. Everyone promoting this activity should be brought before a court of law and prosecuted.

I don't think it's the sport/activity that's in question, if treated appropriately, it's the self indulgent, cringe worthy parents who push push push! That poor little girl, crying, make up, 'glitter' and all, made me switch off shortly after!

How could you possibly say this could be edited to be negative ... how on earth could encouraging 5 year olds to fight each other to any conclusion (whether bloody, ko or just brusied) be seen as positive!
My only experience with children in my kids school (which is only small with 70 kids) who learn martial arts is that they 'practice' martial arts on others ... they are not old enough to be responsible or disciplined, thus they should not be allowed to do it.

I think the program will be heavily edited to portray thaiboxing in a negitive light, at the end of the day its tv 'journalism'which as we know will want an interesting story rather than the truth. i have already read comments such as 5 year olds fightin with full head contact and ko's common place etc which is quite simply not true. this could be good for muay thai's exposure in this county as it is a highly diciplined fantastic sport which deserves coverage like mma and boxing, but i fear this will not be the case.

Regards the title. What kind of impression are these people trying to give muay thai?
Gyms usually allow upwards of 5 years to train. The idea being to increase both discipline and concentration. Lots of kids also have low self-esteem and poor confidence.
My son (training since 9 years old) has become more confident as a result of his training and has being actively fighting for 1 year now. He currently holds two titles and has a can do attitude. I will watch this show with interest and will air my views later.
