A coffin-like box, made of the same foreign elements as the Stargate, holds the key to unraveling the mystery of the ancients. As Stargate Command begin their study, a shape-shifting spy unleashes an evil race called the Tlak'kahn on earth, forcing four Stargate trainees and their wily leader to flee through the Stargate with their precious cargo. Alone in the universe and on the run from the Tlak'kahn, the plight of the young heroes becomes more desperate when Stargate Command label them outlaws and send a team of bounty hunters to find them.
