Programme Information

Amanda Shelton (Sarah Michelle Gellar) is the cook of a restaurant which is on its last legs. Although it has a faithful clientele, Shelton just isn't a great cook. To add to the worries of Amanda and her mum, their landlord seems determined to price them out of the market by raising the rent extravagantly.

When Amanda bumps into young department store entrepreneur Tom Bartlett (Sean Patrick Flanery) in the morning market, the pair of them are both smitten. But he's got a girlfriend and she's losing her restaurant. But when she cooks for him, it all clicks and she does a Like Water For Chocolate trick on his heart.

Her dishes are so mouthwatering that anyone who tastes them becomes overcome with feeling. Tom is bewitched, although his girlfriend is compelled to reveal her true nature and start chucking crockery. A romantic comedy with a dash of magic realism; delectable.
