Programme Information

Matthew McConaughey steps into Dirk Pitt, the intrepid marine explorer's shoes. This time around the scientist from NUMA (the National Underwater Marine Agency) tackles the Sahara. He's trying to help beautiful UN scientist Eva Rojas (Penelope Cruz) stem the tide of pollution that's threatening to engulf the world's seas, having been unleashed by the corrupt actions of ruthless French industrialist Yves Massade and evil dictator general Kazim. Pitt's also looking for an old Confederate ship from the time of the American Civil War, which he believes is buried under the sands.
