Programme Information

Two chefs and members of the audience put their best efforts into producing, in only 20 minutes, an interesting meal using ingredients valued at no more than £5.00. The ingredients are supplied by the audience and not the chefs to make things a little more challenging. At the end of the show the audience vote on which chef they think deserves to win.

An entertaining show which is popular with housewives and students. Interest in this kind of show has spread across to the atlantic and there is now
an American spin off called "Ready Set Cook".

Subject Paul Rankin - I am disgusted to see this Chef constantly licking his fingers when handling food and then not washing them. Each time he appears on the show he does it. Surely this is a Health & Safety/Food Hygiene issue?

We agree with Ann Kasler - Ainsley Harriot completely ruins the programme. In additon to his inane remarks, continually interfering with what the guests are doing, as if they cannot do the simplest tasks, and when the tasting takes place, feeding the guests, as one would a child.

Bring back Fer Britton we say.

What a pity I am no longer able to watch Ready Steady Cook because ofthe moronic guests being used (today a young woman who wasn't able to tie her own pinafore and complained that it wasn't fitted) as well as Ainsley Harriet's OTT actions and clownlike demeanour. There has been a steady deterioration in the quality of the programme with too much guest chat and too little cookery info. so goodbye.

i was watching ready steady cook during the week with the chefs toby tobin and nick nairn when i noticed that everytime they touched the meat or fish they wiped their hands on the tea towel, i thought that every chef was to wash their hands after touching raw meat or fish.

The question on Thursday 31st Jan was "Is it possible to make pasta without a machine" I was very surprised to find nobody coming up with the old but excellent recipe of Swiss and Austrian'Knöpfle' or 'Spätzli' Recipes available on the net.

The presentation of the food is as important as the cooking on the show especially the beautiful different shaped white serving plates used recently. Where can I buy them?
