Daniel Hillard (Robin Williams) is a struggling actor, he has two beautiful children and an ex-wife. Through the bitter divorce wranglings, Daniel lost custody of his children to his wife, Miranda (Sally Fields).

After losing his job doing voice-overs for a cartoon, Daniel decides to throw a surprise birthday party for for his son, Chris (Matthew Lawrence). However things get a little bit out of hand and things take a turn for the worst and Miranda requests a divorce.

On hearing that he can only see his children once a week, Daniel sets about trying to find a way of seeing his dear children more often.

Now he hears that Miranda is looking for a nanny for the children while she is at work and with the great help from his best friend, homosexual special effects make-up artist Jonathan (Robert Prosky), he is transformed into an ageing Scottish woman.

So Daniel pretends to be Mrs. Doubtfire, an old woman who is hired as the Hillard's housekeeper and nanny. Daniel's act turns out to be too good, however, and leads to disastrous consequences when he tries to split up Miranda's new flame, old flame Stu Dunmeyer (Pierce Brosnan).

During this time gets himself as job as Mrs Doubtfire - children's storyteller on cable.

A superb and very funny film that is great for the whole family.
