Programme Information

Poignant legal drama based on actual events set in 1960s America. In a small town in Virginia called Central Point, a mixed-race couple fall in love. In order to evade the Virginian Racial Integrity Act, they get married in a different state, but on their return are charged with breaking the law by intermarrying. Hoping to fight the system by legal means, they plead guilty and accept having to leave the state, but their fight for justice and racial equality has only just begun.
