Joseph Gordon-Levitt, probably best known here for Third Rock from the Sun, plays a teenager prone to sudden, violent outbursts. When one leaves a classmate needing 50 stitches, he's sent to a juvenile psychiatric hospital run by Don Cheadle. As he meets others in the group, including sexually abused Kerry and self-harming Tracy, debut director Jordan Melamed's film follows the group's dynamic, frictions and friendships in this almost documentary drama.
