Period drama set on a western frontier farm. Missie, a young widow, struggles to make a living for her child. She decides to leave the farm and move to her father's ranch in hope for a new and better life. Then, another orphan enters Missie's life, harbouring a dark secret. Will Missie be able to gain the trust of the young child?
