Programme Information

Screen version of Shakespeare's romantic comedy presented in the style of a 1930s musical. The King of Navarre and three of his noblemen decide they are going to give up chasing women, and publicly swear a solemn oath to spend three years studying. But when they meet a beautiful French princess and her three lovely handmaidens, it is love at first sight - and the four men struggle to maintain their pledge.
