Programme Information

While on holiday in Scotland, an aspiring Hollywood actress and Japanese Restaurant waitress, Barbara (Vinessa Shaw) encounters a young man called Richard (David Tennant) with whom she embarks on a holiday romance with.

Richard, however, is a writer of orbituaries for a local undertaker and really not the glamourous sort of person Barbara was in hope of meeting.

However when she returns home to Los Angeles she brags to her friends if an affair she had with a handsome young aspiring writer.

Unfortunately these exagerations are about to crash around her ears as Richard decides to follow her back to Hollywood - filled with the dreams of becoming a star in the glittering town.

However the newcomer soon gains experience about the goings on in Hollywood.
