Subject: TIME TO STOP PUSSYFOOTING AROUND
Dear SIR,
NOT TOO MANY YEARS AGO, IT WAS NOT THE FEAR OF BEING STABBED, IT WAS THE THOUGHT OF THE PUNISHMENT THAT WAS GOING TO BE METED OUT BY PARENTS IF THEY FOUND THEIR OFFSPRING WERE CARRYING KNIVES.
IT WOULD MAKE THEM THINK TWICE, AS A DETERRENT THE GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO REINTRODUCE CORPORAL PUNISHMENT, ANY RESPONSIBLE PARENT WOULD RATHER THEIR SON FACE THE CANE, THAN HAVING TO GO AND IDENTIFY HIM ON A MORTUARY SLAB.
For any type of antisocial behaviour, First offence, 16-year-olds and over, should sign a legal document stating if they re-offend they will accept a form of corporal punishment, refuse to sign, its 2-years boot-camp, 15-year-olds and younger, along with a parent / guardian, sign the same document, refuse and its 12-months boot-camp.
THAT WILL GIVE BOTH PARENTS AND THEIR OFFSPRING SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT.
NOW WHAT COULD BE MORE SIMPLE, DON'T RE-OFFEND, NO CORPORAL PUNISHMENT?
Thanking You, Yours Faithfully John Grant.

Dear Sir,
AFTER FIGURES SHOWED VIOLENT CRIME BY YOUNG PEOPLE HAS RISEN NEARLY 40-PERCENT OVER THE PAST 4-YEARS, THE COUNTRY'S HEAD OF THE YOUTH JUSTICE BOARD, FRANCES DONE, SAID; FEWER YOUNG THUGS SHOULD BE JAILED BUT GIVEN COMMUNITY SENTENCES INSTEAD.
NO, Ms DONE, ITS TIME TO GET TOUGH. Most of the murdering thugs on our streets have previous convictions, some minor,
Why not try and nip it in the bud?

Let me say I love the Loose Women programme.
On Friday 20th, the ladies were discussing Malopropisms, and didn't get it quite right. Malopropism [from "The Rivals" by Richard Sheridan 1775] " like an allegory on the shores of the nile" and used widely by Hilda Baker-eg "to dance the Flamingo", [Flamenco]
Spoonerism, mixing up of words [Reverand Spooner] such as " you have hissed the mystery lectures" and "the meeting will be hauled in the hell below", thought this might amuse.

Tell Carol that people do come up to you when you are overweight and tell you that you are too fat and should go on a diet or that you shouldnt be eating maybe the first thing you have had to eat all day. I am overweight and have been since I was 7 and continually try to lose it(sometimes sucessfully!) and have had life long experience of abuse from people! It is upsetting and unnecessary as yes, I do know I am fat! Contrary to thin peoples perception I dont live on cakes, biscuits and crisps either, although I do like a big dinner and take little exercise!

Best daytime entertainment, yes it is, this week we have football and football and yes more Football and England are not even playing, loved having Penny on today just a shame guest does not get longer, Penny would be good on the panel, a breath of fresh air along with Andrea and of course Carol, looking at some feedback I agree Jane and Colleen need a new hairstyle, Colleen does not need to mention RAY so much and Denice be kinder to TIM he is GEM... my hubby and I love to watch whilst we have lunch being retired is great but I used to catch it in my lunch hour years ago and still find it a fantastic show, keep it up girls.

My wife informed me of your show regarding the subject of "best before" and "Sell by" dates on items of food.
When we were first married our food costs were staggering and it wasn't until after about two years I realised why.
Every week when we done our shopping my wife would go into the kitchen and throw out all the tins of food left in the cupboard because, "well they are over a week old and we don't want to get upset stomachs".
Beggers belief eh.

Every week day I sky plus loose women..and really enjoy the show. Theres only two loose women I cant stand on the show and thats Zoe and Denese Welch. Zoe isnt on much...but Denese is on every day lately...and she really comes across as self obsessed and vain..plus she talks to her hubby Tim like dirt. Perhaps a new batch of loose women would inject some 'freshness' in the show. Having said that I love Carol McGiven...and Jane...they can stay on permanently.

Hi. I love the show but think that you ladies really let the side down on Easter Monday. No wonder blokes take the micky! Why can't you learn to read a map. If you all drive cars any distance I should think that this was essential. I have been a widow now for the past twenty years with no wish for a partner, and if I hadn't learnt to read a map I would be stuck at home being a boring old woman. Even with a sat.nav. you need the back-up of a map. Heaven help you if you ever really get lost and the mobile phone has no signal. Now come on ladies get a grip. Learn to read a map - you can't be that dim.

I do so agree with all Carol said this morning about the Budget. BUT its all very well for pensioners to get a bit more fuel allowance, at christmas but why doesn`t the Government EVER give pensioners a bigger increase in their yearly pensions, like mothers get every year having children.
Companies increase workers salaries every year and mothers get LOADS more for having children, but pensioners only get a very tiny increase in April that does not cover Electricity,Gas Telephone food etc.for the year even though most of them have worked hard all their lives.

I am a staff nurse who watched the show on 6/3/08 when the women discussed Lord Mancrofts statements about nurses,I am sad to say he is speaking the truth. I had no choice lately but to whistleblow to protect patients safety, I was bullied and had to resign form my job. It is the first time I have not been working in 31yrs. Good nurses ar afraid to speak out for fear of losing their jobs, so they leave or keep their mouths shut. Yes there are good nurses who still see nursing as a vocation, however there are just as many who do not give a damn about the patients. We have lost the respect and disciplin within the profession. The training is totally inadequate, and we have lost the basics of Nursing care, I have completed both types of Nurse training, General (where I trained in a hospital ) and a Diploma in Mental Health Nursing at university. There was no comparison, when I trained in the hospital there was no such person as an Infection Contol Nurse, we did not need one, it was simple, if on the rare occasion there was cross infection it was simple, you were not doing your job propely. We used to be so stringent when changing dressing, Trolly was washed with antiseptic, we wore masks we took great care to ensure the risk of infection was minimised, now they just grab a dressing pack and put it on the patients bed, and the public wonder why infections such as MRSA and C-DIF are out of control, bad nuring practice is a hugh contributary factor, and its time this became a topic for debate, befor many more people die of hospital aquired infections. Get training back to the hospital, and more nurses please speak out. I have always loved my profession, and still have a passion for caring about patients, however like many of my colleagues we are sick of the way nursing practice is continualy deteriorating.
