One of Great Britain's most versatile actors of stage, screen, and television, John Thaw has won many awards like Best actor in the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) twice and the personality of the Year Award in 1991; and the TV Times Favourite Actor Award in 1991.
He has had many different roles in various programmes like The Sweeny, collecting several awards and of course Inspector Morse. He's also starred in two feature films for which he won the Evening Standard Best Film Actor of the Year Award in 1977.
John Thaws character in Kavanagh QC (Queen's Counsel) is James Kavanagh; one of the top-flight barristers in Britain.
Each episode sees him handling challenging cases and defendants, which put his skills to the test regularly like when he has to defend a convicted arsonist of killing his girlfriend. These trying cases really put his character to the test.
