Detective drama in which unconventional Chicago cop Jack Reed's investigation into the murder of a young mother is hampered by a government cover-up. Reed closes in on his prime suspect but is put on the wrong trail by government sources. Despite being pulled off the case by his superiors, he vows to bring the killer to justice for the sake of the victim's young son.
