The Highlander series continues the saga of the Immortals. Locked in an eternal struggle to fulfill an ancient prophecy, Immortals never grow old and can only be killed by losing their head. At the moment of their long-awaited death, the entire life force and knowledge of the slain Immortal is transferred to the victor in The Quickening, so that the last of their kind will gain the power and knowledge of the universe. If a virtuous Immortal delivers the final blow, goodness triumphs. If the last surviving Immortal is evil, darkness will reign forever... In the end, there can be only one.
The Raven follows on from Duncan MacLeod passing the sword to a beautiful Immortal, Amanda, and her mortal partner, Nick Wolfe. Once again stepping into the role of Amanda is former Miss America Elizabeth Gracen, who has appeared since the start of Highlander:The Series as MacLeod's on-again, off-again lover.
In Highlander: The Raven, Amanda teams up with Nick, played by Paul Johansson (Beverly Hills, 90210). She's Immortal; he's not. She's a 1200-year-old thief, reluctantly developing a sense of responsibility; he's an ex-cop who has found the legal system criminal. Together, Nick and Amanda form an unlikely team in their war against evil and injustice.
