Programme Information

Chili Palmer (John Travolta) is a loan shark who works for the Miami mafia, and in particular the nasty Ray 'Bones' Barboni (Dennis Farina). He has just been sent to Los Angeles to track down a man called Leo Devoe (David Paymer), who owes him money on a gambling debt.

However when there, he is enlisted by a casino boss to find a bigger deadbeat, Harry Zimm (Gene Hackman), Hollywood player and producer of low-budget horror films. Chilli meets Harry, his scream- queen leading lady, Karen Flores (Rene Russo), Harry's drug-dealing financial advisor, Bo Catlett (Delroy Lindo) and a big movie star (and Karen's ex-boyfriend), Martin Weir (Danny DeVito), better known as "Shorty"

Chili soon finds, on meeting this group of people that his Mafioso skills lend themselves quite nicely to what he's always really wanted to do: producing movies.
