Programme Information

Collaboration between the BBC's classical music and drama departments, a factual drama about the genesis of Beethoven's Symphony No 3, the Eroica. Set in Vienna in 1804, the film follows the rehearsal and first performance of a piece that aroused strong passions in those who first heard it.
