Programme Information

Elaine is joined by actress and singer Marti Webb. Marti first came to prominence playing the role of Ann in the original London production of Half a Sixpence opposite Tommy Steele. She made her West End debut in Stop the World, I Want to Get Off, and also played Nancy in the first UK tour of Oliver!, where she met and befriended the show's Assistant Stage Manager, Cameron Mackintosh. In 1979 she began to appear as a regular alternate to Elaine Paige in the original London production of Evita, taking over the role full time in 1980 just as the album of Tell Me on a Sunday was released. Marti's Essential Musicals include Carnival (Broadway 1961), Man of La Mancha (Broadway 1965) Flower Drum Song (Broadway 1958).

    Please could you let me know the correct title and the name of the Author of the music played by Elain Page on the Sunday Programme of 6th July '08. I only captured "Violin" (Joshua Wells?). I would love to buy the CD but do not have much information! With many thanks
