Popular and stylish high school beauty Nicole Maris (Melissa Joan Hart) has only one thing on her mind - the centennial celebration theme for the school prom.

From her dress through to her hair, make up and the event itself, everything is perfectly planned, only one problem, she doesn't have a date.

When the boy of her dreams asks another girl, Nicole begins to make new plans to take both her grungy looking childhood friend and neighbour, Chase Hammond (Adrian Grenier) on a roller coaster ride of love and fun as she prepares him for the ball.
