Programme Information

'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' chronicles the life of Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar), whose destiny is to battle vampires and other evils.

Aided and abetted only by her knowledgable English 'Watcher', Rupert Giles (Anthony Stewart Head), and a small band of friends, including budding wiccan Willow (Alyson Hannigan), she struggles to reconcile her secret and challenging role with the life of the regular student she hankers after.

Set in Sunnydale, the southern California town whose residents are blissfully unaware that they are situated on the mouth of hell, this is a witty, stylish and well-written US drama that expertly combines horror and black humour in its rich characterisation and plotlines.
