Lawrence Kasdan made his directorial debut with this steamy pastiche of 1940s crime melodramas. William Hurt plays the slow-witted Florida lawyer who is subtly persuaded - Double Indemnity -style - by icy seductress Kathleen Turner to do away with rich husband Richard Crenna.
