This lavish two-part mini-series which documents the crisis triggered by a huge asteroid which is on a direct collision course with Earth.
The American government attempt to deflect the asteroid with a powerful nuclear blast. However they only succeed in creating a highly energised and deadly meteor shower which now threatens to destroy large areas of Earth and, inevitably, its poulation.
As millions await their fate, they are reminded of how a similar impact 65 million years before wiped out the dinosaurs
