Programme Information

Epic drama following the legal battle over a shipload of slaves who overpowered their captors at sea and landed on the shores of America. Initially, the argument in the courts revolves around the issue of property - to whom do the slaves belong? It is only gradually that even the lawyers for the defence come to truly understand and appreciate the humanity of the men turned into cargo by the evils of slavery.
