Programme Information

Fritz Lang made five war movies in his long career, four during or just after World War II and this one, released as America was about to embark on the Korean War. Based on a true story, it stars Tyrone Power as Ensign Chuck Palmer, the leader of a group of US servicemen left stranded in the Philippines in 1942 when General MacArthur withdrew from the Japanese invasion.
