This comedy is based on life centered around the 'eccentric' Edina Monsoon, Edina's 'down to earth' daughter Saffron, Edina's 'patient' mother June and Edina's 'party going' best friend Patsy Stone.
Edina and Patsy having grown up in the 60s and 70s are finding it difficult to come to terms with being forty. They are continually re-living their youth amidst the recreational drug use and promiscuous sexual behavior synonymous with that period.
Saffron the ever sensible daughter is always looking after her wild mother whilst gran who is not all there, always has a clever retort for Edina's problems.
