Life of Grime Special: Mr TrebusRunning Time: 40 minutes (approx)Two years ago, the first series of "Life of Grime" featured the trials and tribulations of Polish war veteran, Edmund Trebus, who fought an epic battle against Haringey Council in North London to remain in his rubbish-filled house and garden. In the end, Mr Trebus stayed in his five-bedroom Victorian villa - filled from floor to ceiling with rat-infested rubbish - but the council succeeded in clearing his garden. It was a job that took over a month, required five large trucks and 11 skips and cost more than £30,000. This film brings viewers up to date with Mr Trebus's situation. Predictably, he's filled his garden woth rubbish once more. With a fresh round of complaints from the neighbours, Haringey's Environmental Health Officer, Mike Cording, is back on the warpath, determined to clear the chaos. But My Trebus's problems are many and varied. Bob McIvor, Head of Haringey's Building Control deaprtment, is also taking an interest in his property. Gaping cracks have been discovered in the walls and there's a serious threat that the property, no matter how full of rubbish, is in danger of collapsing. As Mr Trebus, now in his mid-Eighties, reels from the combined onslaught of both Council departments, a new friend emerges to help out. Bill Green, a local retired businessman, befriends him in an attempt to fight some of his battles. The plan is to completely renovate the house, with the help of property developers, convert it into flats, give one to Mr Trebus and sell the others to clear the costs. But nothing is straightforward in Mr Trebus's world and, despite repeated attempts to change, improve or interfere in his home life, he carries on doing what he does best. Still looking for more?
