UK Gold showcases outstanding British comedy and drama series, and movie box-office successes, making it one of the most popular television channels in the country.
In 2003, UK Gold features the best of British comedy programming, from favourites such as Only Fools and Horses and The Royle Family, through to cutting edge comedy such as The League of Gentlemen and The Office.
Shooting Stars is also back to UK Gold every Tuesday night from January. Award-winning comedians, Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer bring their own special brand of daftness to the quiz show with no boundaries.
January sees the UKTV premiere of the hit drama Spooks, every Wednesday on UK Gold at 9pm. This topical, edgy drama set in the mysterious world of MI5, highlights the passion, jeopardy and the intrigue of people who have to lie for a living and who can never tell their loved ones what it is they really do at the office.
Also premiering on UK Gold in January and February is the return of ‘the magnificent seven’ in the new series of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet. As Oz and lads are reunited, they travel from Middlesborough to Arizona and discover that their friendships made on the road to Dusseldorf years before have, against all odds, survived. Auf Wiedersehen, Pet is on UK Gold every Sunday at 9pm from 12th January.
There’s a fistful of movies every Friday this season including the box-office smash Rush Hour, with funny-man Chris Tucker and action superstar Jackie Chan. And the Robinson family attempt to save humanity in Lost in Space, fighting against the evil Dr Smith played by Gary Oldman.
