Channel Information
Teachers' TV is a channel for everyone who works in education, from heads to NQTs, governors to support staff.
Programmes take you inside classrooms and schools across the country to see how good teachers are bringing the curriculum to life and improving schools.
All national curriculum subjects are covered in the Primary and Secondary Zones, where there are also programmes for headteachers, managers, newly qualified teachers and governors.
In the General Zone there is a weekly half hour news programme and documentaries on the educational issues and controversies of the day, and lively programmes specially made for use in the classroom.
The channel is funded by the government but editorially independent.
ZONES, PROGRAMMES, AND BLOCKS
To help viewers plan their schedules, the Primary and Secondary Zones are divided into hour-long Blocks of four programmes, each containing programmes relevant to a specific subject or role.
A typical subject Block might contain an example of a new teaching method, an analysis, a review of resources relating to that subject and a programme for classroom use.
Role Blocks are aimed at key groups in education, such as teaching assistants, governors and NQTs. The zones will also feature themed weeks of programmes relating to particular subject areas.
